We're excited for the opportunity to showcase our missions, resources, and people. This Open House is particularly significant as it kicks off a series of events designed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Langley Airfield, and the key role the surrounding community has had throughout the past century."
Our Open House allows us to showcase our state of preparedness, demonstrate our airpower capabilities, and highlight the military's role in national security to the Hampton Roads community and our local partners. The 2016 Open House is more than a celebration of Langley - it is a way to thank the community surrounding our gates for their support of Langley over the past 100 years. We hope to further strengthen that relationship for many years to come."
For 100 years, Airmen at Langley Field have been on the cutting edge of military aviation. From Billy Mitchell's historic sinking of a captured German battleship to the stand up of America's first operational F-22 squadrons, from countless Cold War alert missions, to the training that led to some of the first air-to-air victories of Desert Storm, the skies over Hampton Roads have been filled with American Airmen. We hope you will join the proud men and women of Joint Base Langley-Eustis in celebrating a
century of airpower over Hampton."
We are looking forward to the opportunity to demonstrate what Airmen do every day, and have been doing for that last 100 years at Langley Airfield. We have put together an incredible lineup of military and civilian performers to showcase the capabilities of our Air Force and our sister services. Our ramp will be filled with statisc aircraft to include nearly every fighter jet in today's Air Force, as well as many historic warbids. The show will be truly outstanding, and we can't wait to welcome you to our Air Force base!"
